Why should I choose Opti-Coat paint protection over other paint protection products on the market?

Opti-Coat is the only true permanent paint protection coating for all automotive surfaces.

It bonds permanently with the factory coating, protecting the surface indefinitely and will not delaminate, wash away or breakdown over time.

Opti-Coat is completely resistant to acidic environmental substances such as bird droppings. Unlike your factory clear coating that can be permanently damaged, Opti-Coat will not etch or dissolve when in contact with these substances, and a clean, glossy clear coating is maintained.

For more information, visit the Opti-Coat product website.

Is Opti-Coat permanent?

Yes. Opti-Coat is permanent. In fact, it is the only permanent ceramic coating on the market at this time. For more information, visit the Optimum Car Care website.

What is involved in applying Opti-Coat paint protection?

Preparation is key to a successful Opti-Coat application. It is vital to remove all waxes and sealants to ensure maximum bonding of the coating. Scratch removal may also be necessary, as this is a permanent coating which will “lock in” any imperfections on the car.

The Opti-Coating process starts with washing the paintwork, wiping the car down with isopropyl alcohol, and using a clay bar to decontaminate paintwork. The car’s wheels are also washed/detailed and prepped for Opti-Coat.

Only when this prep work has been done thoroughly and to a high standard is the car is ready for Opti-Coat.

Summary of Opti-Coat process:

  1. Paint inspection
  2. Wash
  3. Hand dry and blow dry
  4. Clay bar paint decontamination
  5. Scratch removal if required
  6. Solvent clean exterior (isopropyl alcohol)
  7. Apply Opti-Coat
  8. Protect while coating hardens

How much Opti-Coat is needed for adequate paint protection?

I recommend a two-layer application of Opti-Coat by machine. This process uses approximately 45cc of Opti-Coat Pro for a medium-sized car.

While a single layer of Opti-Coat Pro applied by hand (using 10cc) is deemed acceptable in the product guidelines, a thicker coating increases the overall protection of the factory paintwork.

How long does it take to have my car Opti-Coated?

The time required for the Opti-Coat process largely depends on the level of preparation needed prior to application. Most of the time, having Opti-Coat applied to your vehicle will take one business day – but don’t forget to factor in the 12 hours of garage time needed for the product to harden.

How long does Opti-Coat take to harden/ cure?

Opti-Coat takes a minimum of 12 hours to cure. This means the vehicle must be garaged for 12 hours.
